My boyfriends use to have seizures when he was age 3-14 he is 24 now do you think this would be hereditary? I'm 35 weeks and 2 days.

Depends on the cause of the seizures and if there is a family history of it.  Epilepsy can be hereditary but they look for how many in a family line have it to determine if there is a hereditary cause for it or not.  I know my friend Danielle has had seizures her whole life and she is 29 years old now and still has them just not as often and she has 6 kids and none of them have shown any signs of seizures.  The Dr thinks my mom is having seizures but hers is caused by a head injury in a car accident.  My next door neighbors daughter has seizures but they think they were caused by lack of oxygen at birth.  


  2. I don't think that a seizure disorder is hereditary, but you should talk with the pediatrician about when the baby is born.
