Im worried about not qualifying in Law Enforcement. (Polygraph) ?

Does anyone know what can disqualify you on a Polygraph test? I'm not by any means a drug head, but I did smoke some weed one time in the last year. I also remember taking some oxy cotton from a friend cause I was in a lot of pain. He was being prescribed this medication and I didn't really think much of it at the time. Anyways I'm actually worried that these two things will not allow me to be a police officer. I'm coming out of a 6 1/2 year enlistment with the Air Force, most of my qualifications are in Law Enforcement. I'm mostly interested in becoming a DPS Officer. Any help?

I cant imagine that these things will disqualify you.  The reason people fail the poly is for lying.  If they ask about the use of any illegal drugs just answer yes.  You should have the opportunity to explain after wards.  If you lie about it.. you wont get the job.  The marijuana smoking is recent so I dint know what that is going to do for you.  Might not be a good think that it was just a short time ago.  Good luck.
