  1. Go to YouTube and search for "monster waves".  They have some fantastic clips of 40-60 foot waves crashing over the railings and cockpit of a cruise ship.

The clips were taken in the North Sea where the heaviest wave action takes place in the world.

  2. Don't worry about it. Cruise Ship's are like Airliners.  They are in radio contact with other ships around them. They also have weather radar, etc. And most major cruise line have a weather center that they talk to around the clock.

I was on a cruise a few years ago and the Captain navigated around a big storm. We didn't feel a thing nor did we hit any big waves. And if for some chance the ship sailed into a big storm. It has stablelizers to keep it from rocking like crazy.

Trust me it will be ok.

  3. No cruise ship is going to put you in any kind of danger for if they did, they would not stay in business. If there is a storm, they divert the ship to somewhere safe. Sips now are extremely safe and you will even have a safety drill on the first day on the ship. So your chances of having a very stormy cruise are very remote indeed. By the way, the cruise you are going on is one I hope to do soon too. I have already cruised to Norway, but not the northern end.

  4. WHILE CRUISING HAS IT DANGERS THE RISK OF BEING HIT BY A BIG WAVE IS SLIM.  THE SHIPS ARE EQUIP TO KNOW AHEAD OF TIME WHEN THE WEATHER WILL BE BAD.  I WOULD CHECK THE AREA TO SEE WHAT THE WEATHER IS USUALLY LIKE DURING THE TIME YOUAR GOING ON YOUR TRIP
