Im worried again lol bout my 9800gtx+?

i have had it in my pc for a while now but i noticed that my 9800gtx+ showed a yellow light at the rear where the dvi connections are? im sure its was not green its showing green now but could the yellow light tell u something else like its not getting enough power im powering it using a corsair vx 550w my pc specs are

athlon 64 x2 3600 1.9ghz@ 2.224ghz

2gb ddr2 @870 mhz @ cas 5

as rock mb (very rubbish !)

bfg 9800gtx+ oc (@41 degress idle 55 load) 100% fan (dont care of the noise as long as it cools)

1x samsung dvd-rw

2x 250gb sataII hitachi deskstar

corsair vx 550w psu

xfi exstream music

a modded case with 4 fans

acer 22inch lcd 5ms

logitech 140 speakers linked to hifi

what does the yellow light mean? if connected the pcie plugs right so what does it mean?

  1. i really dont know exactly. but it does mean there is some type of problem.


  2. Don't know offhand about the yellow light, but it is usually a warning of some sort.  Do you have the manual?

    Unless the board is faulty, first suspect is your +12V.  If you have a voltmeter, carefully find an open molex plug and measure the +12V while the computer is running.   I have a plug-in voltage tester I use.

    If the +12V is less than 11.4 volts (5%) then you need a bigger power supply.

    If you are hardwarephobic, you can probably take it to a shop and have them check it for you.
