I just bought an imac 2.8 and i didn't run it yet. I'm going for holiday so it'll take a couple of weeks for me to use it. Well, it has 2 gigs of ram. I want to buy 2gb more...Only brand i can find in my country is Kingstone (Kingston 2GB 800MHz DDR2 SO-DIMM )

May i learn what brand of ram does imac use?

and is this ram will work with my imac? lets say i have some other brand in my imac, will it be a problem to run 2 different brands? cause it makes some problems with pc if i`m not wrong..

  1. First your iMac probably has 2 x 1GB now. So you will need to remove those sticks and replace them with a 2 x 2GB kit. The most recent iMacs use 800MHz RAM. Older models use 667MHz RAM.

The below page should help you determine which type you need. Also I believe that website ships internationally, if you want to order from them. Anyways they also have a good video showing how to upgrade your iMac.
