  1. Theres a Microsoft office 2008 for Mac.

Most of the HP printer will work on a Mac.

you can use a external hard drive/DVD/flash drive for transfering music...

dont worry about internet...it will work for sure

  2. Yes all of those are supported, however I must urge you to buy a better Windows computer. You could get a better computer at half the price if you stick to Windows. I can help you pick something out, just email me.

Also if it's slow, what many people don't realize is that Windows needs maintenance. In your Accessories folder in All programs, you'll see that there is Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. Run the defragmenter atleast once a week and cleanup once a month. If you have never defragmented, chances are that you have registry problems that are causing your computer to run slowly. This can be solved by backing up and reformatting, or you can use a program called CCleaner, but be careful what you delete with it.

Also, make sure you have a good anti-virus and anti-spyware program.

  3. All new Mac's have the capability to run Windows (though you have to pay for an MS OS license), so there is very little risk in buying a mac.

  4. Get a Windows machine because Vista is very safe for web browsing and the internet is actually much faster on a PC vs a mac.  Yes mac supports MS Word but it is a more confusing version to use.  Use a flash drive or CD to transfer music.

Or better than either of the two options you posted, get a PC and install Linux.  You can have the reliability of Windows XP (the best version of Windows EVER!) and apply a different look to it that looks like the layout of a mac os (I don't know why you would want that because I can't stand the layout of mac os, but it's an option)

  5. 1) yes, and has been for a long time. but it's a different version

    2) google it

    3) copy and paste to a flash drive

    4) yes, all internet should run the same

still, be prepared for a learning curve

  6. Yes, Mac supports Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc). Note that you can't simply use Microsoft Office for Windows for Mac. You'll need to have Microsoft Office Mac version.

Yes, it works with any printers.

Yes, you can transfer your music from your Windows computer to Mac. If you live near Apple Store, bring your computer there and they will help you move all your documents, songs, videos to your new Macs free of charge.

In short, 99% things you do on Windows can be done on Mac as well only much easier and much simpler. You'll only need a couple of days to adapt for it won't be hard because basically Windows is a rip-off of Mac. Mouse was created by Apple, those fancy user interface with menu was created by Apple. Drag and drop was created by Apple. If you can use Windows you can use Mac and vice versa.

That's my very personal opinion. I use Mac for personal and Windows for business. Both works well. Use and enjoy whatever operating system that suits you best.

  7. macs are awesome!

mac does support microsoft office, there is a software package available at the mac store that includes excel, word, powerpoint, entourage, and msn.

it also works with hp printers.

you can transfer your music by burning them onto cds or dvds and ripping them onto the mac. itunes will usually rip songs of cds automatically as soon as a music cd is inserted.

if you don't like that method, you could put your songs on a usb flash drive stick and put them on your mac that way.

once you go mac, you never go back! (cheesy but so true)

  8. mac i think but beware mac is vulnerable to virus
