  1. Hallucinations I guess. Schizophrenia is your best bet I think. Remember that "Beautiful Mind" movie?

Or maybe make her a druggie. When she's high she sees her friend.

  2. I dont know. When I was younger I had one named Frantasca (idk where the name cam from).

I remember that I had friends but I liked having the perfect friend and not being alone.

Then when I turned 9 she left me :(

  3. Schizophrenia

  4. Apparently there is some sort of link between anorexia nervosa and imaginary friends....

  5. actually imaginary friends are known to be spirits or ghost. When i was little i had imaginary friends named creeby crieby and cromp (dont ask about the names i was little) and i would want my mom to pour milk for my friends and she would watch me the whole time i never ever touched the glass but the milk was gone and she watched it go down. Ever seen a baby play with the air? or laugh about nothing? Well those are angels and spirits playing with your baby.

  6. Asking whether it's mental or physical isn't the best way to look at it. Physical or psychological may be more appropriate since this may be a due to an organic (physical) or emotional cause. Both are possibilities. Perhaps your short story could make it difficult to distinguish which it may be.

I can't believe MrsDuran didn't suggest the movie Donnie Darko!

  7. In Soviet Russia, friend imagine you!

  8. Look up Delusional Disorder or Schizophrenia.  I would think that by age 16, if someone has an "imaginary friend" then it's a manifestation of a mental illness.

Oh, and watch the movie "Lars and the Real Girl".  It's a similar story.

  9. it would probally be a mnetal disorder

  10. lmaginary friends are often seen in gifted young children. A 16 year old does not qualify. lt's more likely a mental illness or a wandering spirit only the girl can see. The latter seems more appropriate for your short story.

  11. Mental. And I don't think it is a disorder. -_-
