  1. Nice place !! For accent pillows, I would pick a darker color from the rug to add some contrast. I would like to see a mirror on one of the small walls by the window. I'm thinking one large picture on one wall, four smaller ones of the same size and theme on the other.

I hope you can use all or at least some of this. I do tend to "over" decorate sometimes. !!

Thanks for letting me into your home, hope I helped.

Also, floor to ceiling sheer panels would make the room appear larger.

  2. I like "nearly there's" answer.  But, I was thinking of a large mirror on one wall over the couch and the painting on the opposite wall so that the painting would be doubled by the mirror.  I was just worried about this small space getting to busy, when it should be opened up.  Sometimes, less is more.

With the nice window you have and the light it brings into the room,, I was actually thinking of a painting that was either a landscape, garden or water scene.  The color of the couches should be in either one in flowers or sunrises, sunsets, etc.

The boldness of your rug, with the geometric theme, should be taken into account also.  Perhaps the frames of the painting and the mirror could be that dominant color of the rug, and also continue the geometric look?

Also, I wouldn't choose throw or accent pillows, until I found the right painting. But, my instinct would be to use the colors in the painting to choose fabrics and have the pillows made, cording the edges of them or enhancing them in other ways using the darker accent color.

Make sure the pillow covers are made of durable washable material and have zips or are made sham style, because you will want to be able to launder or dry clean them.

When I look at the room, I see the soft contours of the couch, then squares and rectangles all over the place from the book  case to the coffee table to the window.

My eye goes to your window and I'm thinking this is the place to carry out the soft lines of the couch by either using a draped valance or a good looking wrought iron rod that you can drape fabric across and down the sides to elongate the short window.  Using fabric that will be echoed in your throw pillows would really pull it together without a feeling of sameness.

What you want is small space, big impact.

    Thanks for the good photo.
