Image saving question?

i used photoshop to make a few pictures,and i saved them as .png then uploaded them onto myspace.but then they showed up as bad quality so i asked my friend to check them and she said they were saved as ".jpeg" so i checked my computer and they were saved as .png does anyone know what happened? or if it was my computer or photoshop?

  1. PNG images (uncompressed) are good, but don't display very well for some browsers (IE for one) and I think MySpace converts them to a jpeg format which is a compressed image. Their conversion method may not be as good as your own graphics editor so try saving them as the highest quality jpeg, upload them, then see what they look like.

  2. may be you are seeing your raw files and after you upload it is converted to jpg

  3. The picture quality of PNG images is quite superior to the JPEG images. However, PNG images take up more disk space, so MySpace chooses to compress them by converting them to JPEG.
