Think how controversal the book twilight would be if the character Bella was replaced with a guy, the christains would have a field day, 'you're curupting our kids'. Make all the plot the same but just replace the character Bella with a guy and make the relationship a g*y one. You see, that's something that hasn't been done before unlike every other vampire book that exists.

P.S. I'm not g*y and not taking the p**s, I honestly think it would be an interesting combo.

  1. no i hate that combo, dont get me wrong im not against g**s or anythihng i just picture edward cullen as a straight guy and i think the book is fabulous just the way it is.

  2. no way man, if you change bella to a guy. it would not be as romantic as it is! some people will find it sick. the reason why bella is a girl is that stephenie meeyr is trying to explain how girls want their perfect boy to be like. and that is edward! if bella is a guy, no girls would read and get in love with the book. It'll just ruin the whole thing

  3. hehehe. That would be soooo weird! I don't think many people would read that though (except maybe some g*y people), and that would totally kill the story- It wouldn't work without Bella and Edward. Anyway, interesting point!

  4. Wierd but interesting, i think that would be cool, but idk who would  read/buy that...

  5. It's not exactly a "g*y romance," but there are themes of homosexuality in Tanya Huff's vampire series "The Blood Books." The vampire, Henry Fitzroy, doesn't limit himself to any one gender concerning his preference for sexual partners.

Also, Anne Rice's "Vampire Chronicles" have themes of this as well.

So...no, though it hasn't been done to the caliber you describe, there are vampire novels with homo-erotic undercurrents.

  6. Hmm... never thought about that. It would make it more interesting, that's for sure! Lol, hahaha. That would be funny.

  7. dont even think about it. you might just ruin my world.

  8. Eh well, I've read a lot of stories on FanFiction.net that has a lot of g*y vampire-human relationships.  And yeah, I'm going to compare those stories with Meyer's Twilight because in my opinion, they're pretty much the same thing--only difference is Meyer's actually made money and major fame with her story.  But honestly, a guy Bella would probably be an interesting improvement, since then s/he wouldn't be just the stereotypical "Mary Sue."

  9. good point very well could be

  10. I've already done it. I wrote a fanfic about Edward getting with Jacob. O_O

    ...Oops! I said to much didn't I?

  11. that would just kill the romance!

  12. Your right, it would have been very controversial, but I doubt it would have had the success Twilight does.

And it's been done. Lestat's sexual prefrences are left to be pondered in Anne Rice's novels.

  13. but then no one would like to read it. I'm not against g**s at all but If the main character was a guy and acted all wimpy and naive like Bella, it would put me off. Yes, there is the major issue with the Christian church as well, they would probably try to sue the author and burn the books, saying they are sent from satan and would polute the minds of children =.=...
