Imformation on core sores please help desperate!!!!!!!!?

Question

i felt a cold sore coming on thursday night it was jsut a tiny dot then on friday afternoon i bought abreva and have been applying it i always get them right on my lip where everyone can see now saturday morning my lip is so swelled up that i cant even close my mouth anyone have any advice?

I have cold sores as well. So i bought Neosporin Lip Treatment and it seems to be working. It is a cold sore and lip treatment found in the isle where cold medicine is.

Some patients claim that breaking a sore and using witch hazel or alcohol ot dry it really helps. Says Dr. Rooney In a home remedy book i have.

The same doctor says that Phenol may have some antiviral properties and it is contained in some products that claim to heal cold sores. He says it does denature proteins. So Theoretically, it is possible that phenol is capable of killing the virus. Try using ice it may reduce the swelling it may not its 50/50 there.

Also try to relax maybe its too late to stop it if it was caused by stress but relaxing may let the body do what it is designed to do which is heal it a little bit faster, try some relaxation exercise you can look up on the web. or meditation.

Poor bugger! I suffered from cold sores as well, I feel your pain. I tried everything and every sort of cream possible to make them go away. Nothing worked and some creams actually fed them and made them bigger.

The only way I could make them go away was to put salt on them after the scab came off. Yes it did hurt but it actually made them go away alot sooner then using the creams.

Once I put the salt on I could feel it hurt/tingle - but I kept doing it each time they bled and it seemed to dry them out and cause them to heal quicker.

Ouch, are you sure you are not have a reaction to the abrevea?  You might want to try another cold sore medicine or go see a Dr.  xox
