Immediate Response aiming for a hat trick in the Mothers Day Weekend Handicap Hurdle at Limerick
Limerick is to host the Mothers Day Weekend Handicap Hurdle over two miles on Monday, 19th March. The race will see eleven participants who will be in for invading the track and getting the purse worth €6, 900.
Immediate Response, Strategic Choice’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Rosies All The Way, is by far the strongest entry for the race today. He cracked into the new season on 2nd February in the Clonmel Festival Week Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel over two miles and half a furlong.
Immediate Response, the 6/4 favourite winner of the race was riding with Mr. P. W. Mullins and led the track by six and a half lengths. Speeding for the wire and finishing the closest behind the winner was Up The Girls.
Reserving the third position was Tequila Lord.
After claiming the seasonal debut, Immediate Response also dominated the second start that came his way on 9th February.
Once again entered as the favourite, Immediate Response won the two miles and six furlong trip in the Tote Trifecta Rollover Handicap Hurdle at Thurles. The 4/9 favourite led the track of twelve by eleven lengths paired with the same jockey.
He was sent as a favourite both the times and has ridden with Mr. P. W. Mullins during both the victories. Today, in the third start of the season, Immediate Response will be the mount for the same jockey and will race through a distance that is less than what he has won over before.
There are very high chances that he will be sent as a favourite thrice in a row and will strike a hat trick.
Another noteworthy entry for today’s race is Friendly Society, Moscow Society’s seven-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Friendly Breeze.
He was pulled up in the seasonal debut on 4th February in the Follow Us On Facebook Novice Chase over two miles and five and a half furlong. Rathlin was the 4/9 favourite winner of the race while the runner up was Banjaxed Girl.
Friendly Society’s second start of the season was in the Powerstown Chase at Clonmel over two miles on 16th February. This time he was positioned third behind the 4/9 favourite winner Bishopsfurze who claimed victory by a highly narrow margin of ¾ of a length.
The runner up was Action Master.
Which of the two will post a victory today, will become news soon.
