Immigration entrance slip / passport?

Hi, I lost the little slip they gave me on the airplane to get to this country.(some kind a registration number) I am applying for immigration papers and lawyer told me that probably I will have to return to my country for 10 years because I dont have the slip entrance..does anybody know if I can get this slip some how again?:

  1. I think you should question this with Immigration themselves. My husband has to fill out an immigration entrance slip each time he comes back to the UK, even though he has 'Indefinite leave to remain', he has to hand it in at the airport customs control, not keep it.

    I'm not sure what the lawyer means, & i really think you should get the right info from  the Government office itself.

You are probably talking about form I-94.You can try inquiring on your Port of Entry where it was issued.They have a portion of that stub and they might be able to help you with your problem.It is an important requirement in filing of Adjustment of Status and also it has the date on how long you can legally stay here in the US.Good luck.

  5. I think that the government will have an account of you receiving that slip. They will probably issue a replacement at a cost. Is your lawyer an immigration lawyer?
