Got my immigrant visa, for how long do the green card is valid before I apply for I-751? After I-751, can i apply for the citizenship or do i still need to wait? How long do we need to wait for the I-751 to get approved?

  1. After you've had your green card 2 years you should file the I-751.  After you've had the green card 3 years you can apply for citizenship.

    If your husband's stationed overseas, and you're with him on his orders, as a command sponsored family member, the rules that apply to being outside the USA do not apply to you.
