Immigration question please help!?

my mom has lived in the united states for 20 years and she is still not a u.s citizen but she's in the progress of becoming one.....i want to know if they can deport her?? p.s she's guatemalan.

  1. Anyone who is not natively born in the US can ultimately be removed from the country permanently by USCIS and the DoJ.

    Visas, permanent resident status and even certificates of naturalization can be revoked, putting the individual back into the status of alien and subject to deportation. It gets harder to do the more you go up the ladder so to speak, but still possible for certain crimes.

    The length of time you've spent in the US has no bearing on your eligibility for deportation, only your legal immigration status does.


  2. There is not reason to deport her, she has a green card and for 20 years she hasn't broke any law so don't worry she'll be ok. I'm so happy she is doing her citizenship, proud of my chapina :)

  3. If she is legally in the process of becoming a citizen and is not breaking the law, there is no reason to deport her.
