hey guys

I've been in US for 2 years and my green card is expired. I've received a 2nd biometric appointment and i went apply. I just wondering how long I have to wait to receive a mail to interview with USCIS for a new green card. But I've wait for more than 4 months and I haven't receive any mail from the USCIS.

Sorry for my English but correct me if I'm wrong.

  1. See the paragraph below taken from the USCIS web site:

A Conditional Permanent Resident is issued a card valid for two years. In order to remain a Permanent Resident, the Conditional Permanent Resident must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. The conditional card cannot be renewed. The condition must be removed or you lose your permanent resident status. (See Form I-751 and Form I-829.)

  2. If you applied to remove conditions from your Green card (submitted form I-751), then the waiting time could be up to one year. This is how long it currently takes. Thw interview might be waived (it's not always scheduled).

The USCIS should have sent you a Letter, I-797, which extended your status for one full year. So even if your green card is expired, a status as a permanent resident is still valid.
