(Imovie) Audio not showing up problem??

Question

My camera records videos fine, and when i put the videos on my computer (mac) The videos play fine in quicktime, with full audio. When i put the video (MPG) into imovie, it plays the video, but with no sound. I didn't use to have this problem, and i am still using the same camera and doing everything the same. I don understand why the audio won't play!! (I already checked the volume, the speakers, and the audio box is checked on the video track in imovie) Please help!!!

There may be an issue with the MPEG files you are capturing from your hard drive or flash based camcorder.

Since you did not tell us which camcorder you are using, it is a challenge to provide you details. Since you can playback the clip in iMovie and the audio is there, it does seem odd that iMovie does not have audio.

download and install StreamClip - free from Apple.

Open StreamClip, import the clips from your camcorder, export the clips in DV or MOV format, then try dragging the converted clips into iMovie...

They are most likely muxed mpeg files, google search muxed mpeg1 imovie. Use MPEG Streamclip using the previous answerers instructions.
