Imovie help!!!! can you take only the audio of a clip and not the actual video?

i am doing a wedding movie for this person in my family. I need help with imovie. can you play a clip and add pictures instead of the video and just add audio. NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

sorry but you cant. imovie 08 doesnt have as much features as 07 and 06. on 07 you could but imovie 08 u cant. i looked it up on 100 different websites. sorry

If you use iMovie HD (not '08) you can. You should still have it otherwise you can download it from Apple for free if you own iMovie '08.

In iMovie HD (or earlier) you can choose a clip and then go to "advanced" in the menu bar up top and then choose "extract audio". iMovie will then separate the audio and you can then slide it under any video you want.

I think you still can do it in the latest iMovie but I prefer iMovie HD more still.
