How did the Maori sociey change after the arival of Europeans in New Zealand. Refer to health, farming, warfare, trade, religion and day-to-day life.

  1. well from the little I know...christianity was introduced ( some of the earliest arrivals were missionaries), health improved in some areas BUT the introduction of diseases like measles, etc caused a huge number of deaths and a large decline in maori numbers for quite a while.

    Europeans introduced new food like trout, pigs and other foods which quickly became a huge part of the maori diet.

    warfare.....well there were land wars, but I don';t know much about them many happned in the waikato and Taranaki region and the Wairau äffray"in marlborough are key ones I think. I also know that guns became incorporated into warfare by maori, against other maori too.

    I'm not really too sure on the other things.
