they got us out of the country, and into the city.  The automobile also help rid many of athletes foot.

O.k. First of all it provided many jobs, led to the demise of the horse as a method of transportation.  Also is another way to kill ourselves (40,000 per year).

Made it easier to get somewhere (school, job, take goods to stores)

It moved us out of the cities.  Allowed us to spread across the continent.  Allowed suburbs to grow along with extended shopping.  Allowed workers to live apart from their jobs.  Gave women freedom to move by themselves and see more and learn more.  Allowed houses instead of apartments
