how does affect political system in a country?? what is its impact??

I think it makes them desperate and therefore the needs of the country are sidelined because the person in power is looking for a way to save their family, their friends and themselves.

If it doesn't affect the people *directly*--they are going to care less when general elections come around.

But if things are in the toilet so much lately--as they have been--the people are going to sit up, take notice, and start demanding that their government FIXES the problem.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. And too often, the government sides with the rich and big businesses--rather than the people.

I think it makes people think a little clearer.  They know the person they vote for will have an effect on them, and they will actually pay attention to the issues, rather than go with popular opinion or their emotions, as a lot of people do.

The majority of people could care less about the election, because they don't think it effects them.  They're more worried about what movie is coming out in early November than who to vote for.

Self-interest runs the universe.
