2004 Impala, factory radio and amp, just installed 2 Infinity 692.7i in the rear. When I am sitting normally in drivers seat I can hardly hear any bass at all. If I lean forward toward the windshield the speakers sound amazing. They thump when you're sitting in the back seat too. But when I'm just sitting up front they lose literally all their boom. It really is crazy the difference from leaning forward and sitting back in the front. Obviously I want it to sound good where Im sitting all the time. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  1. Sound stage

The sound stage refers to your sense of width, depth and height when you listen to music — just as you would sense the placement of different instruments in a live concert setting. Individual vocal and instrumental "images" make up your stereo system's sound stage.

the reason it sounds like that is because you have two-way speakers, the only way to fix it is to adjust the sound stage (the location and/or angle) of the speakers, or get some components (the tweeter is separate from the mid bass driver and is not in the way)

-a tweeter mounted on top of the woofer cone will always, to some degree, interfere with the sound waves produced by the woofer-

With a component speaker system, the woofers and tweeters are mounted independently — each component can operate to its full potential, eliminating the problem of the tweeter impeding woofer performance. More important, independent tweeters can be positioned for optimum imaging and sound staging.

Manufacturers will often use better materials in separate components than in their 2- or 3-way counterparts. When properly powered, component speakers deliver exceptional dynamics and detail.

  2. That is common in almost all cars. It's from the bass waves reflecting off of the windshield.Nothing you can do but get a sub.

  3. You should try adjusting your sound levels on your stereo adjust your Fade forward and rear until it sounds good where your sitting
