Imperial Boy to stay in form by winning the Caffreys Grand Prix Trophy – Final at Nottingham on 16th April
The Caffreys Grand Prix Trophy – Final will be held at Nottingham over 680 metres flat on Monday, 16th April. Taking part in the race tonight are Ethans Pick, Fabulous Athena, Fabulous Pin, Bringthemhome, Mill Luciano and Imperial Boy.
The leading entry for the race is Imperial Boy, Westmead Joe’s three-year-old black son out of b***h, Dukeries Lily. He has been active ever since the new season took off with fourteen races already under his belt.
He has retained the benchmark by primarily being placed in all the races with just one dreadful sixth position on 18th February at Nottingham over 500 metres. The only two times that Imperial Boy has won was through the seasonal debut and the
most recent race that took part in.
On 6th and 13th January, Imperial Boy was trained over 305 metres at Nottingham, settling the prior in 18.14 seconds and for the latter he took 18.32 seconds.
His seasonal debut was in a 500 metres race at Nottingham on 16th January and he dominated the field by completing the trip in 30.97 seconds. He led the runner up of the race, Flutters Choice, by a staggering ten lengths.
On 3rd February, in a Grade A1 500 metres flat at Nottingham, Imperial Boy was sent as the 7/4 favourite of the race but could only manage the fourth position behind the winner after racing for 30.65 seconds.
The winner of the race was Loyal Mover who covered the track distance in 30.29 seconds and had Snipers Cruising finishing as the runner up.
He then got the honour of being sent as the 2/1 favourite in the Stadium Bookmakers Stayers Trophy - Heat 2 on 19th March at Nottingham but once again he could not translate the victory into a success. After taking 42.85 seconds to race, Imperial
Boy leapt onto the third slot.
Till yet his last victory was in the Caffreys Grand Prix Trophy – Heat 2 on 9th April at Nottingham. He reached the other end of the wire in 42.37 seconds and the evening’s favourite led the runner up, Fabulous Pin, by 6 ¾ lengths.
It is high time that Imperial Boy starts lining up some wins on his profile. A recent victory will prompt him for bagging more.
