Imperial Djay determined to win Bet365 Handicap
The Ruth Carr-trained bay gelding, Imperial Djay, will capitalise on the momentum injected by his recent outstanding performances in an effort to claim the ace title of the Bet365 Handicap that is going to take place at Haydock racecourse on Saturday, July
7.
The Class 2 contest over 7 furlongs will commence at 2:20 (GMT). For the sake of the prize money £12,938, the seven-year-old veteran hound will compete against 8 rivals on the heavy track that is going to be the first ever experience in his 68-race career.
During May-June 2012, the brilliant son of Dilshaan out of Slayjay made some glaring marks that boosted up his morale greatly.
On May 24, the maverick horse demonstrated impressive run against a dozen of competitors in the Hattons Solicitors Gold Membership Handicap over 1 mile at Haydock and finished as a runner-up.
The talented sprinter moved ahead to win the high-stakes event of Matthew Clark Handicap over 7 furlongs at Chester on May 26. He again clinched first position elegantly in the very next race entitled as Willow Water Handicap over 7 ½ furlongs. For both
the events, he had been a non-favourite runner.
During the glorious Royal Ascot festival, the Hollinbridge Partnership-owned horse finished 11th against 22 contestants in the Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) over 7 furlongs.
In each of his last three outings, the legendary gelding ran under P. J. McDonald who is all set to drive him again in today’s contest.
Considering these stats, it is easy to believe that Imperial Djay will be able to seal another sterling success at Haydock convincingly. Moreover, none of his rivals is capable enough to impede him----this is also a great advantage for him.
Thus, the skilled horse will amuse his fans with his convincing and splendid march towards the finish line. The title of the Bet365 Handicap will be a big value addition in his career chart.
A thrill-laden action is just a few hours away. Let us turn out to Haydock to enjoy the way Imperial Djay thrives. Good luck to the gelding and all the other runners who are going to sprint alongside him.
