Impingement upon the ventral thecal sac?

I had an MRI done after a car accident. I had some numbness in my hands and fingers, shoulder blade pain, and neck pain.

The results of the MRI state:

There is a midline posterior disk herniation at C5-6. There is abnormal signal involving the herniated portion of this disk compatible with a radial tear. There is impingement upon the ventral thecal sac. What does that all mean....LOL

Ok, so the disk herniation means that the disk is bulging out.

That's related to a radial tear. Impingement on the ventral thecal sac means (I think) that the herniated disc is pushing into the thecal sac which "is a sac that protects nerve roots".Seriously, your doctor should take care of that for you...that's not good....a car accident?! Good Lord at least you're alive. But really, you should check your results with your doctor. This is an appetite suppresant for now lol :)
