Question:

Implant/implanon has anyone had these side affects???

hi i had my implant put in in may 08, since then i have been constantly bleeding, put on weight, had migraines and am miserable and have bad mood swings, i went back to the family planning and told them the gave me some pills to take to stop bleeding it didnt work so went back again and told them all bout my problems and that i wanted it out but they said its to early to take it out and that the implant and the pills i was taking to stop the bleedin(flemullen) caused no such thing they sent me away with more of the same pills and told me to take two a day now.but seems to me that my bleeding has got heavier and are getting painful, i have bled constantly since the 17th may 08, has anyone else had problems with this implant and wat did they do????

  1. I would ask the doctor to remove it ASAP these do not sound like side effects that are going to go away. I think you have done extremely well to persevere with it for this long. Most side effects are quite short lived and go away fairly quickly.


  2. They say to give the implant a few months to let everything settle down.  I have not had a period at all since I had mine put in.  If you aren't happy they cannot refuse to remove it.

    I really think that this dosn't suit you, its not for everyone.  Perhaps swap it for a mirena coil.

    i have implanon.

    i love it.

    ive had it 4 months.

    no side effects at all.

    no periods at all (!!! YAY!!!)

    i think its great.

  4. These symptoms may be adverse effects of the medine you use.Try another contraceptive method.

  5. The implant often causes these kinds if issues and more women tend to have issues with it than not. It maybe that this method of contraception is just not agreeing with you. If I were you, I'd go back to the Dr
