Implication of imago dei on gender?

what is imago dei and what is its implications on gender relations,please give any sources where i can find further information

  1. Of course, it is going to have an effect. If your god is female, then females are going to have an advantage. Males may reject this religion and the religion weakens. It might work if the religion stressed the importance of the mother/son relationship, insuring a good relationship. Then the religion would be a"mother" religion and not just a female god religion. The Greeks had a wise goddess, a warrior goddess, a beauty goddess, women then, by choice or nature, would identify with one these goddesses, helping them make choices in life.  


  2. maybe if we were truly an image of god ,that includes both genders, we would be hermaphrodites

  3. 'Imago dei" is "image of god", or "god's image"...

    If we exist in "god's image", that would seem to include both genders!
