The single most important quality of a producer is ORGANIZATION. I cannot say this enough. Ok, maybe I can...The most important...nevermind. Anyway, I found a signifigant number of problems that I encountered involved not being prepared for production meetings. For example, a budget should be established before things even start rolling, not after half the set has been built. You should have a detailed agenda planned before going into each production meeting. Have a list of issues that need to be co vered before you even walk into the meeting. Keep track of everything. I found a small, poket-sized notebook is ideal for keeping everything in order.

Things to keep track of :

    * How Much Money Can Be Spent (i.e., total budget)

    * How Much Money Each Crew Wants (i.e., itemized budget)

    * The Names, Email Addresses, and Phone Numbers of your Staff

    * Issues To Be Brought Up at the Production Meetings
