I think that science research in India is very important.

The country of India has produced many important scientists and mathematicians throughout its history.  However, its ranking among the scientific communities has been slipping over the last several decades.

In the 1980's, India ranked 8th among the top 20 nations of the world in scientific research.  In the 1990's, India fell to the 12th position and is now has fallen out of the top 20 nations.
