Importance of seed selection?

plz it must be about seeds and thier importance. I just need thei importance not the whole process. Yyou will also waste your time in typing that.

From an article on the importance of seed selection for soybean production:

"Planting high quality seed is essential to a profitable production system and the first step to getting an optimum stand. If you fail to plant good seed, you will have poor stands, slow growth, weedy fields and lower yields. High quality seed has high varietal purity, high germination (80% or above), uniform size, low foreign material, no weed or other crop seed and little mechanical damage."

Looking around at other sites suggests that these are fairly general benefits (higher growth, higher yield, fewer non-target species, etc.).
