My dream has always been to become a marine. But as I get closer I get these random questions that come to mind..Well, I wanted to know if I'm not "buff", will I still have a chance to make it through boot camp???? I have some muscle, but nowhere near the status of having really big muscles. I'm still strong though..i know it!! So ya, will I even have a chance in the corps if I'm not "buff"? thanks guys..

  1. You have a very wrong perception of what a Marine is..Marines are not all "buff" and over 6ft..Marines look just like you do..Marines come in all shape and sizes..

You need heart to become a Marine and muscles are not required..If you set your mind to it then you can become one despite your lack of buffness..I am not buff and I had a great time in the USMC infantry..

You can read here about what it means and takes to become a Marine.

  2. Dude you will do great, I know you will! GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS, AND HAVE A GOOD DAY!

  3. you'll do fine!my husband isn't exactly buff like the marines in the movies or anything but really, a lot of the people i see around here (i live on a marine base) aren't huge muscley guys.

plus, if you do go and you're strong enough they have a special platoon for others who couldn't either.

but i'm sure you'll be perfectly fine!

    good luck!

  4. you can still make it.  a friend of mine was the biggest loser you will ever meet, if you think of the typical stereo type of a nerd, glasses small very thin.  he decided he wanted to shoot people( weird kid) and he joined the Marines and made it through ok.  But they just have him working intelligence stuff now cause he was a genius who gave up scholarships to join the marines.

  5. Hey don't worry.  I weighed 135 pounds when I went to boot camp at Parris Island - In the course of 10 weeks I put on 15 lbs of pure muscle.  It was amazing.  You just have to do what you're told and do it better than anybody else and that is the formula for success.  Good luck - John
