Important career decision to make

Ill briefly explain my situation: I live in North Dakota and work as a meteorologist, I job I love despite the only average pay. However, I miss my family and friends back home in NJ and NY. I've dealt with a lot of shallow, close minded people here and am not happy in general. I have an opportunity to go to grad school in Connecticut and be close to the ones I care about but I will lose my job here and jobs in my field are not easy to find. What is the best decision for me? What would you do?

  1. Can you not try to apply to positions while working at your current job?  Yes it can take time, but if you work at it you will find another job.

Long story short, if you are not happy where you are, then don't stay.  There are other opportunities out there for you.  Good Luck!

  2. you have to go for what makes you happy even when its can be hard.

  3. Is there any reason you don't want to leave North Dakota other than the job that you don't like?  If there are no legitimate reasons for wanting to stay other than this job that you don't like, then leave and go back to school.  While you are attending school, you'll have time to search for employment in a better state.  Also, getting your graduate degree while open more doors for in your field.

Weigh the pros and cons of staying in ND or going back to school and you'll get your answer.
