so i had to borrow 70 to wash and bleach everything in my home today because my kids have head lice. (got to. i got to 2 wash and dry everything) i could not wash drapes. i can not afford the spary for our beds....

so i know the buggers can only live two days off your head and that while eggs can live off of your head, their gestartion period is 10-12 days. so...... here is my plan, help me see any faults? i'm vaccuming, i'm storing toys in bags, bleacnhing stuff... etc. i am goin g to do the most thourough job on our living room and kitchen as it is the first room you walk in when you get here. but then i plan on closing my kids doors and my bedroom door as well, putting a towel at the crack of the door, so when those nasty things hatch, they cant crawl through all over our house, and attack us if we walk in.......

i am 31, but when i was 19 i had head lice and scabies for 5 months straight. so a little franitc over this. help?

  1. Nit alerts get sent home all the time from schools and they advise a vinegar : tea tree oil mix in a spray bottle to be used with a comb and keep treating/checking for 10 days to get them all, big, little and eggs. Another good method is straight conditioner and combing. Also those robi combs are useful. This way if they are around and your kids bring them home there might be a couple but there wont be an infestation. Just wash towels and bedding and clothing. No need to go overboard. They wont survive on carpets and upholstery. There's no shame in having caught lice it's just a part of the day to day care of children.
