  1. Contact the child support office and they can let you know exatly what u need to do.

They are the ones who will have a court ordered DNA test ordered.  The date of the test is dependent upon the state.  Sometimes the date is a week, 2 weeks, or a month a way.  The reults take about a week or 2 to get back.

  2. call you local child support office, states attourney, or circuit court and get exact answers

  3. It varies by jurisdiction.  What you need to do is start the process NOW!  Talk to an attorney about what paperwork you need to file for child support and get it filled out as much as possible.  Obviously things like the baby's birth date will be left blank to be filled in when you do know it.  But the process can take a long time.  It all depend son how backed up the courts are at that time.  Also, if he questions paternity, typically he has to pay for the paternity test.  He will be given a time frame to have it done, or accept responsibility.

But just because support is ordered, doesn't mean he will pay.  I would strongly recommend finding a way off assistance and assume you will have to pay for this child on your own.  There is only so much the courts can do on your behalf.

  4. i believe you can get this done in the hospital after you have the baby, so you might also wanna ask your dr. i saw this on the form with my last child while i was in the hospital.

  5. Start the process now...they can do it at the hospital while you are there.  ITs just a cheek swab for all of you.  Takes about a month to get the results back.
