Important quotes' pages' from The Count of Monte Cristo?

I've looked everywhere in my book and just can't find these two quotes. The book I'm using is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, Bantam Abridged, translated and abridged by Lowell Bair. On the cover is Edmond wearing a colored shirt and jacket.

The quotes I need are:

1. I wish to be providence myself, for I feel that the most beautiful, noblest, most sublime thing in the world, is to recompense and punish.'

2. He felt he had passed beyond the bounds of vengeance, and that he could no longer say, “God is for and with me.”

Thank you!

  1. Unfortunately, I do not have your edition; however, the chapters in this book are not that long, so you should be able to locate the quote if I provide the chapter.

The first is from Chapter 48, near the end, where Monte Cristo describes to Villefort being tempted by Satan.

The second is near the end of Chapter 111, immediately after Monte Cristo discloses to Villefort that he is Edmond Dantes.
