Importing Videos from DVD-R to iMovie HD.?

The video on the DVD-R is about 20 minutes long... but when I open iMovie HD on my MAC. only a portion of the movie is imported (abut 30 secs) does anyone know why? I need to import the whole movie so I can edit....

  1. 1.  That's a lot of memory that's needed.  Make sure you have space available.  2.  Check the default preferences on iMovie.  See what the time is set to.  3.  Maybe a copy write protection problem?  4.  Is there a stop on the DVD at 30 sec?  It might think it's over.
