I have a Sony DCR-HC21 Handycam, I have no idea how to import the videos from it to my MacBook. (iMovie). The disc that came with the Sony is only for PC and I've read through the "how to" manuals and still can't figure it out. Can anyone help me???

  1. Get a firewire 4 to 6 pin cable. Connect the 4 pin end to your camera, and the six pin end to your Macbook. Open Imovie, and click"create a new project" Turn on the camcorder, and switch it to playback mode. Select file-import in imovie, and you should have a screen pop up with controls that will control your camcorder. from there you should be able to rewind, ff, or record onto the computer.

  2. Try importing from your iMovie (or better yet, Final Cut)software.  Their should be an Import or Capture selection.  Macs are supposed to be awesome at plug & Play, so you shouldn't need drivers (hence why you only have a Windows disc).

Of course, you'll need tp plug the firewire cable from your camcorder to the Macbook and make sure it's turned on.  Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.  Good luck!
