Importing horses, to scotland, or the UK?

Hi can someone from the Uk or someone who knows from america please tell me this...

I'm thinking of importing a horse from America, she will be coming to scotland. How do i go about importing her and how much will all this cost me?

I just want to know how to and how much? Thanks!

  1. A few facts about importing horses:

    It is very expensive (a lady I know was quoted £7500 to fly her horse from UK to Aus)

    If the horse becomes ridiculously stressed in transit they are euthanized (this happens more often than you think)

    I personally don't think it's fair

  3. well i know a place in California that will ship horses.  they are called Jet Pets. i see horses coming from there all the time. but i don't know how much it would cast. i think it depends in the different situations. but i would call them if you want price's. but i think it will cast about 5,000 dollars but i really don't know. they are over by LAX airport. if you want any more information you can email me at sabsstall101@yahoo.com i hope i helped Sabrina

    If you are able to give a horse a loving home, how about rescuing one of these - you might find a percheron, if not a Clydesdale. There are plenty of these animals already here in Scotland.
