I have a song copied to my PC from a CD and am trying to make music video to upload to utube, but it won't let me import it because of digital protection. Question: How do they put all those songs on utube??

  1. The songs on youtube are from a pirated version of the music file. I'm guessing that you are getting the music from an original audio CD as opposed to the Youtubers who probably get it illegally from the internet.

If you want to import it into Windows Movie Maker, then I would suggest that you go on to Google and look for a free download of your song.

  2. If you're using iTunes, you're going to have protection issues. iTunes is VERY protective of copyrights and the format doesn't work with Movie Maker.

Because you said that you copied to the PC from a CD, I say try ripping the song again but using Windows Media Player instead. It'll make a WMA file that'll work with WMM.

  3. Did you authenticate this song when you put it on media player?
