Impregnable Wang Yihan continues her supremacy in Women’s Singles category
China has produced many world class shuttlers in the Women’s Singles category who have been earning glory in all major international tournaments of badminton. Wang Yihan also belongs to the class of these impregnable shuttlers from China, who has established
her supremacy in her particular category of the sport.
The 23-year-old Yihan has been delivering phenomenal performances in all major events of the current year and has occupied the top position in the Women’s Singles world standings. Her hard-to-learn skills have put her in the category of all-time best shuttlers
in the history of badminton. Currently, she is moving forward in style as she is enjoying a tremendous run of form and is eyeing the title at the 2012 London Olympics.
At the start of the current year, Yihan’s first competition was BWF Super Series finals, where she remained a bit unlucky as she failed to pass the semi-final stage in the category of Women’s Singles and finished the tournament in the last four. In the following
event of the 2011 Malaysia Open Super Series, the Chinese delivered a better performance and secured a podium berth by losing the final of the championship.
In the 2011 Korea Open Premier Super Series, Yihan displayed a fabulous performance in all rounds of the event and thrashed all of her challengers to grab the first Women’s Singles title in 2011. She continued her superb run in the following tournament of
Badminton Asia Championships and clinched the crown by stamping her supremacy over the world of badminton in style.
In the 2011 Singapore Open Super Series, Yihan played well but not enough to reach in the semi-final of the tournament. She failed to deliver her best in the Women’s Singles quarter-final of the tournament and finished in the last eight. In the 2011 Indonesia
Open Premier Super Series, the impressive Chinese found her winning touch back as she crushed all rivals in her way and won the crown in striking fashion.
Yihan remained on the right track of glory as she has been awesome in all competitions and remained among the favourites. The biggest title of the year for Yihan was the 2011 World Championships, where she played to her maximum potential and won the title
to become a World Champion. The newly crowned World Champion finished as the semi-finalist of the following tournament, which was the 2011 China Masters Super Series.
In the 2011 Japan Open Super Series, Yihan was again back on the winning track as she proved her mettle and defeated all challengers in her way to win the Women’s Singles title. However, she could not continue her winning streak at the 2011 French Open Super
Series when she crashed out at the quarter-final stage.
In the 2011 Hong Kong Open Super Series, the impressive Chinese played slightly better and finished in the top four as she lost her fight at the semi-final stage. In the following tournament of the 2011 China Open Premier Super Series, Yihan played terrific
badminton and claimed the title in this home event.
In all competitions of 2011, the World Number One, Yihan has been displaying a wonderful performance and reached at least in the quarter-final of every tournament she has participated in. Now, she is on the right track to win the Women’s Singles at the 2012
London Olympics, which is just nine months away.
