Impressive Andrew Luck leads Indianapolis Colts thrash Jacksonville Jaguars – NFL Recap
A few weeks after the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts at their home ground to record only win of the season, the Colts turned tables on them, thanks to impressive Andrew Luck, in front of Jags home crowd on Thursday night (Nov. 08).
The 27-10 victory has helped the Colts to extend their lead to 6-3 in the American Football Conference (AFC) South. It has also made the playoff opportunity a real possibility for them now.
Impressive rookie quarterback Andrew Luck ran for two touchdowns, tackling all the hurdles on the way very effectively to show he is as good at rushing as he is in his throws. Most importantly, he loves his game.
He said:
"This win was huge. We wanted to keep our winning streak going. This is a good step in the right direction, but no one looks back at the fact that you were 6-3 in the middle of the season. It's what we do at the end of the season."
The rookie managed to complete 18 out of 26 passes for 227 yards, but two touchdowns were really some excellent work shown by the young offence leader. He was given special attention by the opposition players but he successfully dodged all the defensemen
on the way to score the TDs.
He also showed some toughness during these moves, proving that he has a firm grip over the game.
Luck added:
"Not much to think about I guess. It was football instincts. You see the guy on the other team with the ball, you're going to try and tackle him. If I'm going to be the one who turns the ball over, I'm going to at least try and stop the guy."
As it has been repeated many times, Luck appears to be a mature leader on the field. He does not appear to be a rookie or a player who has only spent a year or two while playing the football. This is something Jags’ quarterback Blaine Gabbert should learn
from.
Gabbert was again a failure, as were other Jags. They could put only 10 points on the table, allowing as many as 27 points to the opposition. Apparently, the team did not have answer to the opposition’s onslaught and seemed to have conceded the defeat at
a very early stage of the game.
Coach Mike Mularkey said they did their best to overcome themselves but failed, allowing the opponents get away with an easy victory.
It was another miserable show by the Jags. The team had won their last game against the Colts at their home ground but failed to defend against the same outfit at their doorsteps.
