Impressive performances of Chandler Dekker and Dale Oen at the Paris Open 2011 – Swimming news
Some more impressive performances in competitive swimming took place in the Men’s 200m freestyle, Men’s 50m back-stroke, Women’s 50m breast-stroke, Women’s 50m butterfly and Men’s 100m breast-stroke events on day two of the 2011 Paris Open in Paris, France,
on June 26.
Firstly, Yannick Agnel of France snatched the Men’s 200m freestyle race with a winning time of 1 minute and 45.59 seconds. Earlier, he set a record time of 1 minute and 45.47 seconds, in March. Placed second in the Men’s 200m freestyle meet was French swimmer,
Jeremy Stravius, with a time of 1 minute and 47.45 seconds. The swim moved him to 11th spot in the world rankings. Danila Izotov of Russia wound up third in a time of 1 minute and 48.99 seconds.
Secondly, Camille Lacourt of France grabbed the Men’s 50m back-stroke event with a victorious time of 24.61 seconds. Earlier, he set the fastest time of 24.36 seconds in the respective meet, in March. Snaring second spot in the corresponding race was US
swimmer, Randall Bal, with a time of 24.89 seconds, while his team-mate, Matt Grevers, settled third in 25.30 seconds.
In the Women’s 50m breast-stroke meet, Annie Chandler of USA wound up first with a sterling time of 30.89 seconds. Amazingly, she broke Jennie Johansson’s previous record of 30.95 seconds, set earlier this month. Caroline Ruhnau of Germany earned second
place honours with a time of 31.01 seconds and Laura Simon settled third in 31.29 seconds. Moniek Nijhuis of Netherlands wound up fourth in 31.33 seconds, while Dorothea Brandt of Germany settled fifth in a time of 31.62 seconds.
Next, Inge Dekker of Netherlands won the Women’s 50m butterfly crown with a sterling time of 25.89 seconds. Melanie Henique of France finished second in 26.23 seconds and Triin of Estonia earned third spot in 26.26 seconds. Dandara Antonio of Brazil surprisingly
settled fourth in 26.80 seconds.
Finally, Alexander Dale Oen of Norway snagged the Men’s 100m breast-stroke event with a victorious time of 1 minute and 00.33 seconds. Fabio Scozzoli of Italy wound up second with a time of 1 minute and 00.51 seconds and Giacomo Perez Dortona of France earned
third place honours in 1 minute and 00.89 seconds. Felipe Silva of Brazil claimed fourth place in 1 minute and 01.09 seconds, while Mark Gangloff of USA finished fifth in a time of 1 minute and 01.13 seconds.
