Imprimis Tagula and Beachwood Bay joint favourites for "Champion Chase Free Bets" With FreeBetting.co.uk Handicap
Imprimis Tagula and Beachwood Bay will be the joint favourites to win "Champion Chase Free Bets" With FreeBetting.co.uk Handicap at Southwell in England on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. The triumphant horse will bag a cash prize of £2,264.
A total of six runners have been attracted towards the event, which is scheduled to start at 2:30 GMT. The going will be standard and the race distance to cover is seven furlong. The entries confirmed are: St Oswald, Imprimis Tagula, Beachwood Bay, Fluctuation,
Dream Win and Piceno.
Out of the above mentioned participants, Imprimis Tagula has the best chance of winning the race, as his recent form is very good. The bookmakers have complete confidence in his abilities, as he is well aware of the conditions at Southwell.
The eight-year-old gelding has participated in 74 races until now, winning 14 of them. He has also secured 13 runners up positions and ended up third on three occasions. Although his strike rate is not much impressive, he is still rated highly by the bookmakers.
The main reason for that is the current form of Alan Bailey’s trainee, who will be chasing a hat-trick of victories at Southwell. His rhythm is very good, thus the punters will also be placing a lot of bets in favour of his victory.
Imprimis Tagula will be partnered by Kieren Fallon, who has got a pretty decent strike rate and will be looking forward to a strong race today.
Jo Hughes’ trained gelding, Beachwood Bay, will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as he is a quality runner. Although he is not as experienced as Imprimis Tagula, he has been running at Southwell consistently. This will give him the confidence
of making a solid impression in today’s race.
The four-year-old gelding won his most recent race, which suggests that he is in good shape at the moment. He was not the favourite to win that event, but performed above expectations in the end, winning by a distance of one length.
Beachwood Bay will be ridden by Josh Baudains, who is relatively new to the sport and will be looking to make a name for himself.
Other than the top two favourites, St Oswald might also spring up a surprise whereas the rest of the runners do not seem to be in good form.
