I had just watched the first spider man and i saw the part where the guy wanted to fight spider man in the school and it shows his punches coming at peter slower then average like he had slowed time down for everything else but him so he could easily dodge the punches. is it possible to do this and how?

  1. No its just a movie man relax.

  2. as silly as the actual question is the main part of the question is certainly a good question. you can indeed speed up your own reaction time. not like in the movies but if you go to a boxing gym you can learn the u-slip and the v-slip. practice being fast with them. you can use a maize ball. which is a bag you hang and then let swing at your head to practice the v-slip. also you can practice them both by having someone throw slow (at first and then speed up later on but you yourself should always practice being fast) strait punches at you head while you either v or u slip. also if they can take a hit or if they wear body guard you can practice slipping and then throwing a hook or upper-cut. all this you can learn at a boxing gym

  3. focus

  4. Only if your Spiderman or Neo from the Matrix

To be honest you can improve your reactions to a certain extend ( not like the guy in the film though ) and if your lucky enough to have been born with it as a gift then you can have very good reflexes. But usually you either have it or you don't

  5. practice by getting things thrown at u and move at da last minute

  6. Think about how you throw a punch.  If you watch someone throw a punch, you will see a lot of movement occur before the punch is even thrown.

If you have a friend that is very fit and with very little fat on him, have him take his shirt off and just shadow box.  What you will see is his legs will move prior to throwing a punch.  He'll step in to throw a hard punch.  His chest muscles and shoulders will move prior to his arm extending.  You can actually see muscles rippling before the punch is even thrown.

All of this movement can be used to your advantage to improve your own reaction time.  With practice, you can actually time a guy based on his motions prior to throwing a punch.  If you get good enough doing this, it will be just like the guy is moving in slow-mo.

If all you focus on is the punch landing, then you will miss all of the advantages necessary to avoid the punch.
