  1. Not all fields of science study require extensive math classes. You can visit various university websites and see the course requirements for various science degrees. You can also contact the professors listed for advice. Most are vary good at advising you. You should have your son contact them.

Also, there are universities with programs for students who struggle in different areas and need tutoring.

Finally, perhaps instead of looking at the best universities, your son should consider a smaller one. Small universities have smaller class sizes. That means your son will get more attention from the teacher and if he begins struggling in a class, they will help him right away. It is a more personal experience than a large university setting with 500 students in a class.

  2. I'm sorry I don't know what 9th std is, but I assume it's like 9th grade?  When I was in 9th I went through some classes offered at the local tech.  The teachers often have office hours and let you get extra help directly from them for free!  This gives him a chance to really focus on the math classes he needs.

Don't be too worried, though, if you have to keep him in regular classes through high school.  I had such a hard time, but people mature and get more experienced.  For me my turning point was age 17, when the right teacher taught me Algebra and another taught Trig with enough help on the side that I made an A!

For now, encourage your son and tell him you want to do everything you can on your side to help him meet his dreams, which will include improving his math.  Show him a list of all that it will take to meet his goal: classes he'll need, colleges to pick from, type of science he can get into.  Find information on people who chose this career, from research to NASA.  Hope you enjoy this link......

P.S. Many kids START at a tech for their education courses (english, etc.) and then TRANSFER to big-time colleges, because they've proven what a good college student they are!

  3. Well let him try. You never know. My sister has CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder) and we didn't think that she would be able to survive in regular ed classes but she's flourishing in her classes. She's getting A's in Math and that's her worst subject. She was diagnosed with a disability in that area. Just keep the faith. :)

  4. go too a tech school they will help find what he wants to do.

they will also help him study
