Improving Wireless Reception?

My router is downstairs on the one side of the house and my computer is upstairs on the other side. Im able to get the signal but i will often lose it. Also i get a high ping in alot of the games i play. Is there something i can buy to extend the signal?

You don't even have to go wireless at all.  You can actually go with powerline.  Check out this video: http://www.cnet.com/4520-7390_1-6274537-...  New Egg sells a number of powerline adapters.  They even make powerline products designed to extend wireless networks.

There are many devices that can improve or extend your WIFI signal.  Better antennas, WIFI extenders, access points, etc.  Do some research and I think you'll find what you need.

It Depends...... what kind of router do you have right now?

You can get a extender or repeater like this one:

That should help with the connection issue. It will cure your high pings just a bit also, but what kind of games are you playing?

OK the router should work with the extender on the link above,

its a great repeater , i have over 15-20 people on the same accesspoint at work and it has worked without incident for the last 4 months.
