How can I, during Air Force ROTC, help myself get into the running for flight school? Please help. I know how to become an officer just after that, i don't know how to be selected for flight school.

  1. Best thing you can do right now is get absolutely OUTSTANDING grades in your classes.   Also I hope you are going for a science degree rather than an art degree.   Engineering is always good.    Do not do drugs ever.  Do not get a DUI.  Do not get in trouble with the law.  Keep yourself physically fit both in strength and endurance.   Do not get any kind of eye surgery such as Lasik.   If you are in ROTC,   try your best to be the honor grad and get a recommendation from your ROTC commander.

  2. A high GPA

    A high AFAST score

    A high AFOQT score

    Previous flight training

Plus, leadership ability is a big factor.

So try for every leadership position and award your ROTC Department has.

  3. well you need good grades, preferably a technical degree like engieneering or math, a really good AFOQT score (high 80s and 90s) and i know this is hard to get but a private pilots license can really help.
