Improving graphics quality?

i just got a computer and it runs cod4 pretty good on high but not maxed out graphics. i was wondering if i disabled any of this vista stuff or is there anything else i can do to improve the actual in game performance of my pc?

If you want to improve the quality of your computers in handling graphics or games. You need to upgrade your video card. to have a better view on graphics and enjoy more games of high quality graphic.

Well CoD4 isn't particularly CPU heavy so exiting other programs should make a huge difference. You could probably expect a small boost in FPS though. RAM could also be an issue. For Vista I'd recommend 3 Gigs for CoD4 but you only need 1.5.
