Improving in hitting drills?

I am 165 5'10 and am listed as a RG by my coach... I need some advice on how to take people 50 - 80 lbs heavier then me as I make myself look like a fool in hitting drills...

  1. Lower your shoulder pads, lower your whole body even, square your feet up, and DRIVE your shoulder pad into his waist grab some cloth, and keep moving your legs. Hope that helps.


  2. This is a simple matter of physics and practice.

    At the front of the shoulder pads, where the laces and/or straps are fastened...this is called the "breast plate".

    It's designed to hang lower to protect the player's diaphragm.

    With your thumbs up and together; fingers curled tight, punch directly at the base of the breast plate with the palms of your hands -

    If you still aren't strong enough...grab that breast plate, lift and drive.
