  1. well depends i swim a 36.51 what i would recomend is if your not already ready doing a flipturn do one and if your not doing a "dolphin kick"right when u take off till u hit the first flags do that it should shave off quite a bit of time

and if you r going to stay with swimming for a long time i'd recomend buying a special swim suit called a "fastskin II" and when the lazer "LZR" racer come out on Aug. 8, 08 buy one but dont buy it if u think your going to quit swimming anytime soon cause their quit expenssive $150-$550

and if your not wear a swim cap wear one even if u have short hair

and by any chance do u swim in houston?

  2. My 50 back was 30.31 seconds when I was 12, but I do 100 now since my age group doesn't have it.

A good pushoff will put you in a good lead. When you go, it is ESSENTIAL to do those dolphin kicks. You will move just as fast as the other kids and you will not be wasting energy. When you're about to hit the surface, break out. In a 50, there is nothing more important than that flip turn. If you s***w up, you're time will be terrible.

Execute the flip with the best technique you know. Make sure to know how much strokes from the flags until you need to turn over, take a stroke with one arm, and then flip. Once again, do the butterfly kicks underwater.

Side-to-side kicking when doing backstroke will make you go faster. When flutter kicking, do this, which you should already know.

Well, good luck on making Invitationals!
